By the end of this course you will understand the behavior of connective tissue and how our duration practice impacts it’s structure and function. You will have a firm grasp of the human nervous system and have tools to influence it to reduce stress, anxiety and chronic pain.

This special training includes content to help you blend somatic work into your Yin classes and client sessions.

Hybrid Yin & Somatics Teacher Training

September 6-9, 2024

This registration link includes the Module I on demand training content which is the prerequisite for the weekend intensive.

Module I is a comprehensive self guided course that is devoted primarily to the science of Yin. This Module is all about giving you the tools you need to become an evidence informed teacher. Lectures are divided into bite sized videos. We start with the basics and gradually build on to your knowledge until you have a firm grasp of what we are really doing in Yin Yoga, and how to do it better. Even if you are not really into science, you will be amazed at how a bit of knowledge, guided by evidence,  can help you practice and teach better. This information is anything but dry. Students are amazed by the body when viewed in this way and inspired to up level their teaching.

  • Yin Yoga Fundamental Concepts
  • Understanding how we apply load to tissues in each of the pose categories
  • Connective Tissue Basics
  • All about fascia
  • Viscoelastic phenomenon and adaptation
  • Research review of recent science that applies to Yin yoga
  • How to apply the research for evidence informed teaching

Module II is a long weekend intensive September 6-9, 2024. The in person training will take place at Sound Method Yoga in Omaha, NE. In the weekend intensive you will learn how to apply the science of Yin to guide impactful practices and sessions. You will learn common assists and creative propping solutions, Yin sequencing and theming. BONUS: A full day to learn how to blend the principles of Somatics with Yin Yoga.

The proposed hours are as follows:

Friday 5:30-8:30 pm
Saturday 10:30 am 5 pm
Sunday 9:30 am – 4: 30 pm
Monday 9:30 am – 3:30
