Description
A modern model of pain is emerging. Science tells us that pain is so much more than tissue damage. New explanations and treatments are emerging and practices that are firmly in the Yoga tradition such as gentle movement, breathing practices, mindfulness and self regulation are hot research topics.
We now know that pain is a biopsychosocial phenomenon. The experience of pain involves and encompasses every aspect of self and when it perpetuates, it can degrade every aspect of self. The fact is, pain changes everything, but the opposite is true as well, everything changes pain. This course is a series of live lectures from ERYT 500, CPT and Pain Care Yoga Specialist Mandy Ryle. She will help you understand the fundamental role of pain, why and how it becomes chronic and how to reverse the process and start healing with evidence based strategies.
Each lesson is 10-30 minutes long. You will have access to a pdf of the course slides which you can follow along with. In most cases, you may just listen to the lectures. This course will transform the way that you think about pain which can change how you experience pain. Research shows that pain education alone is powerful not just for Pain Management, but to heal chronic pain.
