Reclaiming Twisted Winged Dragon

Twisted winged dragon is one of my all time favorite poses. I love the lizard version in the Vinyasa practice, but I really (really) love this supported version in my Yin classes. I have evidence that my students love it too. This is a modification that I teach to my Yin Teacher Trainees. When I attend their classes after they have finished training I see it ALOT. there is no praise like imitation right?

This post is the first in a four part video series on reclaiming the Yin dragon poses. We’ll take a quick but thourough look at each of the dragons to determine a safe and efficient strategy for propping these poses. Once the student is supported, not only are these poses risk free but they feel amaaaazing and and incredibly productive. Your students will LOVE these variations.

This is by far the most decadent way to enjoy this twisty, backbendy hip opener. Just make sure you really follow the instruction to start your roll over on the INSIDE of the bolser, otherwise you won’t feel all the supportive goodness.
